Architecture is a complex discipline where covergen technique, humanism and art and that has as its main objective to meet the needs of individuals in particular and society in general. Under these premises, an unusual and intriguing connection emerges: the relationship be- tween architectural space, aromas and fragrances. In this context, WOHA Parfums perfumes are immersed in
artistic expression. The fusion between architecture and the world of aromas and fragrances goes beyond mere association; it is a matter of finding a means of expression, evoking spaces and of course capturing situations through the different phases of evolution of each fragrance. Thus, the perfumer and the architect share the exploration of their respective environments, using their skills and methods to create concrete and even unique sensory experiences.
In our project "Liquid Architecture", we present a collection of 10 fragrances inspired by previous architectural projects made in Elche and its immediate environment. Each perfume is intertwined with its architectural counterpart, revealing starting points, conditions and concepts. It is the connection of two different worlds, but with a common starting point, that makes this exploration fascinating.
The Calahorra perfume marks the beginning of the Liquid Architecture collection, inspired by an architectural project born from a competition to design a cafe in the historic environment of Elche. The Calahorra Tower, witness of centuries of transformations, serves as a starting point. The architectural proposal seeks not to compete, but to integrate respectfully with the environment. The café becomes part of the urban space, gaining ground in the city and introducing green into the environment.
The perfumer, knowing the environment, when the cafe is already present, immerses himself in the olfactory experience. Observe how the aroma changes during the day and night, influenced by different conditions such as temperature, humidity and the activities of the place itself. This meticulous process translates into a fragrance that captures the essence of this unique environment.
